Happy Easter! “But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay,” Matthew 28:5-6 Christ has risen! Good Friday, we saw Jesus absorb the punishment of death and absolve us of our shame. In His resurrection, we have Jesus' power and life. Opening to Matthew 28:1-10, we see the first witnesses of the Resurrection go to the tomb. See how we see these truths: The Resurrection is True The Resurrection is Powerful The Resurrection is Physical Just as he promised, Jesus came to give us salvation. He is alive. We invite you to come to Jesus, believe His story, and live in light of His Resurrection! #hbcchicagoeaster Join us for worship at our gathering times and locations: Saturday Service 5:00 PM | Rolling Meadows Sunday Services 9:00 AM | Crystal Lake and Aurora 10:00 AM | Rolling Meadows, Elgin, Chicago Cathedral, and North Shore 11:00 AM | Crystal Lake and Aurora Online Service is available at 10:00 AM central time on Sundays on our website and YouTube channel.

What do we do “When Your Lot is a Lot”?
God has a purpose in all our assignments.
In his letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 7:17-24), Paul gives us four ideas that will help us live faithfully with what God places in front of us . . . our “lot” in life. This sermon is a part of our series through 1 Corinthians: Dirty Church, Part 1.

Obedience to God is all about worship at the end. Turning to 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, the Apostle Paul challenges the Corinthians to honor God by abstaining from sexual immorality. Our bodies were not made to gratify ourselves, but to glorify God.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,” 1 Corinthians 6:19.

As followers of Jesus, we are not who we used to be. So why conduct ourselves in any way like the world around us?
